MEASURE CRIMP DIAMETER
MEASURE CRIMP DIAMETER
1.Identify what your approx. crimp outside should be based on your hose size and die combination*
*Crimp diameter specs can be found on the crimp spec decal on the face of your crimper, or you can find specs on the Gates eCrimp app or website
2. Using Gates dial calipers, measure halfway between ridges. To be sure crimp diameter is being properly measured, mark a crimp flat. Beginning with that flat, count 9 flats to get the diameter. Be sure caliper blades DO NOT touch ridges.
3. Measure halfway between the ends of crimped portion of the ferrule
